Born in 1952 in Torbate-djam a city
across the large area of Khorasan Farogh Kiani himself is considered
one of the Masters of traditional dance from this region. Apart
from being a virtuoso of dance he also plays the Dotar and has
additionally gathered experiences in the regional chants of
Torbate-djam. Kiani began his studies on dance over 30 years
ago and is now a master of a dance called „Keshto-Bardasht“
which might be translated as „sow and reap“. It’s
been 15 years now he captured festivals all over the world with
this special dance.
Besides this he choreographed the performance of the clip with
the famous Nawa’i melody which was broadcast several times
over Iranian TV stations.
The group around Kiani includes 9 dancers and two instrumentalists
playing Sorna and Dohol. |
